About Me
My name is Bethany Willers, and I am an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church, currently serving in the Methodist Church in Britain.
What is a girl from Iowa doing in Wales? Well, it’s a bit of a long story. The short version is we left the States in 2018 to travel the world…and the third place we went was on the Gower Peninsula. We fell in love and though we continued traveling for another year and a half, we were always working our way back to Wales. We are lucky that my work was able to bring us to settle in Monmouth in the latter half of 2020, and we are very happy here.
I am currently serving as a minister in the Newport and Lower Wye Circuit of the Methodist Church and have pastoral responsibility for eight congregations spread across ten church buildings. One of my favorite parts of being a minister is the privilege of being with people during the happiest and hardest moments of their lives. I have been in this vocation for over a decade so I have plenty of experience walking with people through the ups and downs.
I hope to offer this service to people outside of the church as well. No matter what your beliefs are, there are times in life when you need someone who can help you through it, someone who can be a listening ear and has experience in crafting a service that will be just what you need. I hope I can be that person for you.
In my free time, I love riding my bike, watching Doctor Who, reading thrillers and mystery novels, and playing board games and going to the cinema with my husband. We also love to travel and hope to get back out in the world once travel is a bit easier again!
